# NFT Vocabulary

In the NFT Space, there are tons of words and phrases that regular people don't normally use. It's important to know these words and phrases so that you can properly understand what's going on!

* BlockChain: Where all the transactions for Crypto and NFTs are kept
* Gas: The transaction fee that is charged when purchasing something on the BlockChain
* Mint: Purchasing an NFT from the source, at it's original cost
* Whitelist: with regards to NFT, this means giving you guaranteed access to buy into an NFT drop at the very early stage without having to rush.
* Smart Contract: Where you Mint an NFT, you can also use a website. A contract is much more detailed and can show you alot more about what's going on with transactions and such.
* Floor: The "lowest ask" on the secondary marketpalce, if the floor is 0.1 Ethereum, then that means the cheapest NFT available is 0.1 Ethereum
* DYOR: Do Your Own Research
* Traits: Each individual attribute in a project. Each NFT has traits, whether it's clothing, hair, glasses, etc
* Rug: Scam, developers are going to run away with your money and pull the rug under you, causing you (your investment), to fall and go to zero
* Alpha: Valuable Information or news that can make you money in the NFT Space
* NGMI: Not Gonna Make It
* WGMI/GMI: We Gonna Make It/Gonna Make It
* FOMO: Fear Of Missing Out
* GM: Greeting
* GN: Saying Goodbye
